If you are looking for the best place to stay in Hanoi with your kids, you are in the right place. In this article, I will share with you some of the best family-friendly hotels and apartments in Hanoi. I hope you’ll find a nice place to stay from my list.
An overview of best areas to stay in Hanoi with family

In my opinion, Hanoi Old Quarter and Tay Ho district are the two most popular areas to stay in Hanoi with kids. The Old Quarter is the bustling heart of the city where most first-timers choose to stay. Tay Ho district offers a more laid back atmosphere and a short Grab ride from the Old Quarter.
I recommend staying in the Old Quarter if your family wants to stay close to everything, including restaurants, shops, cares, and tourist attractions. Stay in the Tay Ho area if you want a quieter atmosphere and don’t mind using Grab taxi to get to the old town where all the action is located.
Staying in Hanoi Old Quarter will put you within walking distance from top tourist attractions such as Hoan Kiem Lake, Hoa Lo Prison, The Train Street, Thang Long puppet theater, and the Night Market.
The Old Quarter is also home to many street food stalls, souvenir shops, massage shops, and tour agencies. You can easily book cruises to Halong Bay or day trips to Ninh Binh.
Tay Ho district is the trendy and expat-friendly part of Hanoi. It has some local attractions such as West Lake and Tran Quoc pagoda. You can find several big chain hotels and high rise apartments here.
