In general, there are two main areas to stay in Hoi An for families, including the old town and the beach area. The old town has several areas including An Hoi, Cam Pho, Cam Chau, and Cam Nam. The beach is divided into two areas including An Bang Beach and Cua Dai Beach.
Your family can consider splitting your stay by staying in both the old town and the beach. In my opinion, if you are new to Hoi An, a stay in the old town is a must because Hoi An is best known for its ancient town and is at its best at night.
Hoi An is quite compact, you can easily get around by walking, cycling, or taking Grab ride. The beaches are located only 10 minutes taxi ride from the ancient town.

Hotel Royal is a beautiful hotel located in a prime location in Cam Pho, right on the edge of the ancient town and Thu Bon River. In my opinion, Hotel Royal is a great place for families for sightseeing, shopping, and enjoying the nightlife.
Staying in Hotel Royal means you’ll be located in a quiet location but within walking distance from major attractions and activities in the ancient town. You can easily walk to the Night Market, An Hoi Bridge, Japanese Covered Bridge, as well as many ancient houses, museums, and tailor shops.
This hotel has an infinity pool, and a beautiful rooftop bar, where parents can have amazing cocktails and enjoy stunning views of the city and the river.
Like many other hotels in Hoi An, Hotel Royal has laundry services, but I recommend doing your laundry outside for a cheaper price. You can find many laundry shops nearby.

I love my stay in AIRA Boutique and highly recommend it for families who want a nice lovely hotel on An Bang Beach. You’ll be a short walk away from the beach and the town where you can find many restaurants, cafes, and shops.
AIRA has two small but beautiful swimming pools. Its beach has plenty of bed chairs and sun loungers to use. There is an onsite restaurant, billiards, a library, and cooking class.
I stayed in a private villa with garden views. The room was spacious and quiet. You can choose to stay in family connecting rooms. Their breakfast buffet has a wide selection of both Asian and Western dishes.

Hoi An Historic Hotel is a great family-friendly hotel located right next to the old town. It is only a 5 minutes walk away from major attractions and tourist amenities such as the central market, restaurants, shops, and cafes.
This hotel has spacious grounds with an outdoor swimming pool, kids play area, and a nice outdoor area for breakfast with lots of shades from old trees. They have yoga class and cooking class onsite.
I stayed in a classic room with city views. My room was spacious with nice decorations. Overall, it is a good base for exploring Hoi An.

I stayed in Square Villa for a few nights and I recommend it for families who are on a budget. This is a cozy family-run guest house located in a quiet area, but within walking distance to the ancient town and the busy banks of Hoai River.
My room was on the 3rd floor and it had beautiful street views. It doesn’t have a lift but staff can help you to carry luggages to the rooms. There are several restaurants on the same street but you can always walk to the ancient town for more options.
You can use the bikes for free to explore the old town. Your family can choose to stay in family suites and Two-Bedroom Villa that can accommodate up to 4 family members.
I didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but you can have it by preorder and they will prepare it for you. The owner is very friendly and helpful, she helped me to organize a sleeper bus to Hue.

Anantara is a luxury resort located in the Cam Chau area, very close to the ancient town. If your family has a good budget and want a relaxing stay in a resort style accommodation in a central location, Anantara is a good choice.
Anantara has beautiful grounds with an outdoor swimming pool, fantastic breakfast, and beautiful rooms. You’ll be within walking distance from the Thu Bon River, the central market, the old town, as well as many restaurants, cafes, and bars.

Bay Resort has an outdoor swimming pool, a gym, 24-hour front desk, and a currency exchange. You can try traditional Hoi An meals at their onsite restaurant such as Cao Lau.
