If you want easy access to tourist facilities like restaurants, bars, and shops, I recommend staying on the central west coast in Duong Dong, Long Beach, and Ong Lang Beach.
Duong Dong is the main town of the island where you can find the night market, tour agencies, laundry shops, restaurants, bars, and cafes. Long Beach and Ong Lang Beach are located right next to the main town, so you’ll be within a short distance away from the heart of the action.
If your family doesn’t mind being further away from the island’s main town, you can consider staying in an area on the east coast such as Khem Beach. This area is home to some world-class resorts such as JW Marriott and New World. You can spend most of your time at their facilities and private beach.
If you stay in the central west coast, you can have the benefit of free pick up if you are taking a guided tour. Most tour agencies are located on Duong Dong town and Tran Hung Dao street. Additionally, its central location in the middle of the island is a great base to explore both north and south Phu Quoc.

I stayed in Dusit for a few nights and I highly recommend this accommodation for families. This is a great affordable beachfront hotel centrally located on Long Beach North. It is within walking distance from Tran Hung Dao street, which is packed with restaurants, cafes, and shops.
Located in the middle of Phu Quoc, Dusit is a great base to explore the north and south region of the island. Phu Quoc international airport is only a 10 minute drive away. I even booked a Grab bike to get to Cable Car Station in South Phu Quoc to get to Hon Thom island.
Dusit has a nice and clean private beach area, a huge infinity pool that is suitable for both adults and children. The beach has many beach chairs for guests. Parents can enjoy drinks at their pool bars. The beach is a great place to watch the sunset.
Other facilities are a kid’s club, gym, spa, gift shop, and multiple restaurants. The buffet breakfast was nice with a large selection of both Vietnamese, Thai, and western dishes.
You can have a romantic dinner at their onsite restaurant, but you can also find many nice places to dine outside of the hotel on Tran Hung Dao street.
I stayed in a double room with a pool and garden views. The room was very spacious with bathtubs and quality facilities. If you have a good budget, you can choose rooms with ocean views.

Seashells is conveniently located in Duong Dong town, which is the main town of the island. It is 20 minutes drive from the airport and you can easily use Grab to get to the hotel. I used the hotel’s free shuttle bus to get back to the airport.
Staying in Seashells means your family will be located within walking distance from some major attractions such as the night market and Dinh Cau temple.
You’ll be close to many restaurants, bars, shops, tour agencies, and laundry shops. I did my laundry from the shop just outside of the hotel and they got back to me after a few hours.
Seashells has a nice infinite pool area with a pool bar and stunning ocean views. It is a great place to watch the sunset. I dined at their onsite restaurant at sunset and enjoyed the live music.
My room has city views, but you can book rooms with sea views for a more luxurious experience. The Three-Bedroom Family Suites can accommodate up to 6 family members. Their buffet breakfast is delicious with many dishes including Vietnamese and International food.

I stayed in the Sea Star Resort for a few nights, and I think it is a budget-friendly place to stay in Phu Quoc with family. This accommodation is located in Long Beach North, just 5 minute drive from Duong Dong town and 15 minute drive from the airport.
It is within walking distance from Tran Hung Dao street, where you can find many bars, restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets. I walked all the way to Kingkong mart and did some shopping there.
I stayed in a bungalow with a garden view, but you can choose to stay in the front of the beach for an ocean view. The room has basic facilities with a double bed and Mosquito net. The beach is the highlight of this accommodation.
The Sea Star Resort’s private beach is a great place to go for swimming, sunbathing, and relaxing. It has many bed chairs to use, and lots of palm trees. It is a popular place to watch the sunset.
You can grab a meal or drink at their onsite restaurant and enjoy the breathtaking views. They also BBQ on the beach, so you can try it if you love seafood.
Additionally, Sea Star Resort has a good-sized swimming pool and a nice onsite restaurant. I didn’t like their buffet breakfast, you can avoid their buffet breakfast and find some things outside on Tran Hung Dao street.
