In this article, I will share with you the 3 hotels near Tan Son Nhat airport that I actually stayed in. I also recommend some other good hotels based on my experience and research. Tan Son Nhat International Airport is one of the two busiest airports in Vietnam, serving around 40 million passengers each year.
Unlike Hanoi’s airport, Ho Chi Minh’s airport is located only 7km away from the city center, making it easy to reach the tourist center from the airport within a short time.
Even though it’s very close to the city center, there are also many reasons to stay near the airports such as you have long layover time between flights, or you just want to take a shower and rest before your flights.
The areas around Tan Son Nhat airport have high concentrations of hotels, mostly budget and mid-range hotels. There are almost no luxury 5-star hotels but most hotels offer comfortable beds and facilities for a short stay before the flight.
This area also has many services apartment style accommodations that have a living area, kitchen area, separated with the bedroom, which is a good option for families or those with a group of friends.
Unlike hotels in touristy areas, the hotels near Saigon airport offer standard facilities such as a bed, a mini fringe, bath towels, kettle… There are almost no buffet breakfasts, onsite restaurants, or swimming pools. Some mid-range hotels still offer this option though.
While there are many accommodations around the airport, I recommend booking a place in the Truong Son Street area for the closest distance to the airport. Some hotels on this side are located only 10-15 minutes walk from the airport, so you can save money on transportation.
If you have a big suitcase and you don’t want to walk, you can always use a taxi for the cost of 30-50k VND per ride. However, there are airport fees on top of that ranging from 10-30k VND depending on services you use such as GreenSM or Grab.
Overall, if you prioritize the close proximity to the airport, and easy access to a wide range of restaurants and shops, I recommend staying in the area that borders Truong Son street, Bach Dang street, and Hong Ha street, and Hong Lam Khanh street.
The hotels around Tan Son Nhat airport are usually cheaper than the center area of Ho chi Minh city (district 1 and 3). The average price for a hotel near Saigon Airport ranges from 400k -1 million VND per night (around 20aud to 60aud/ night).

Best hotels near Tan Son Nhat Airport, Saigon:
1. Green Airport Hotel
I had a good stay at this hotel recently when I had a connecting flight from Hanoi to Melbourne and transiting in Ho Chi Minh for 20 hours. The hotel has a super central location for the airport and it’s also close to many local restaurants and supermarkets.
Location:
Green Airport is conveniently located in a quiet area at Alley 50, just a few steps away from the main road Truong Son street. If you have a light suitcase or backpack, you can easily walk between the airport and the hotel within 10-15 minutes. This helps to save money on taxis.
I had a large suitcase, so I decided to take a taxi, which is only a 5-10 minutes drive depending on traffic. It cost me 50k VND Grab taxi ride from Tan Son Nhat domestic airport terminal to the hotel ( + 30K VND airport fee). On the way from the hotel back to the international airport, I used GreenSM, which cost only 30k VND and 9k VND for airport fee.
If you prioritize the close proximity to the airport and don’t want to stand too much in traffic, the Green airport is an excellent choice.
Additionally, the hotel is within a short walk to all kinds of shops and local restaurants. There are several supermarkets and minimarts on Cuu Long and Lam Son street nearby such as GS25, Winmart, Bach Hoa Xanh, Kingfoodmart, or Co.op Mart.
You can easily buy snacks and drinks for your next flights. Food and drinks inside the airport are very expensive and not as tasty as the food outside the airport, so I recommend buying a few things to eat on the airplane. I bought crispy port banh mi, and many other passengers brought full meals to the airplane.
The surrounding neighborhood is also packed with restaurants such as Bun Bo Hue, rice dishes, pho, banh my, beers, bars, cafes. There are also many street food mobile shops in the morning where you can buy delicious local breakfast before the flight.
Price:
I stayed for only one night, I wanted something budget friendly but still clean and comfortable. This Green Airport hotel is exactly what I was looking for. My room was a standard room, costing around 400k VND, but it’s clean with a comfy bed, a window, and full of natural light.
They also offer Deluxe options with more facilities inside the room and family rooms with two beds which can accommodate up to 4 people.
Amenities:
The Green Airport hotel has around 5 floors, each floor has around 3-4 rooms. The receptionist area is on the ground floor. The check in and check out process is very quick and sufficient.
There is a lift inside the building which is very convenient for those with heavy surfaces and mobility problems.
My room was on the 3rd floor, it was quiet and clean. There is one double bed, a table next to the window, a make-up table with a mirror, and a mini-fridge. The room also has a wardrobe, a TV, a fan, and air conditioning.
The hotel also provides clean towels, free coffee, tea, a kettle, as well as bath amines such as shovel gel, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste. The bed is comfortable for me with a clean white sheet and no bed bugs.
I was very concerned that the booking didn’t mention a window but the room had a window which was full of natural lights. With only 400k VND per night, it was a plus.
2. Prague Airport
We stayed in a luxury hotel in Central Saigon, we had to check out at 12pm and then a late flight to Tokyo around 10pm, so we booked this hotel for a shower and rest before the flight to Tokyo at night.
It was a good decision to book the Prague hotel, because after checking out the hotel in district 3, we spent the afternoon exploring HCM city, and it was very hot and humid. We really need a place to lie down a bit and shower before our flight.
The hotel has reasonable prices, close to the airport, and clean facilities, it was really what we were looking for.
Location:
The Prague Airport is located on the main road Bach Dang street, around 3.5km to the Tan Son Nhat airport. The taxi ride is around 15 minutes away.
Bach Dang street is a busy street with lots of traffic but it was very quiet in my room. There are plenty of local shops, restaurants, and minimarts close to the hotel. You can stock up on snacks and drinks at Bach Hoa Xanh minimart right next to the hotel.
Price:
We book the standard room without a window because we just want something simple and cheap to have a quick rest. It cost around 40aud, which is a reasonable price for a couple. There are options for deluxe rooms with windows if you want more comfortable.
Amenities:
The Prague Airport hotel has an elevator which is convenient to travel up and down to the room. It is a bonus for those who have a big suitcase. The front desk was very friendly and it’s open 24h which adds the security layer to the hotel.
My room was a standard room but it had all the amenities we needed for a quick rest. There is a comfortable double bed, mini fridge, and air con which is essential for the heat of HCMC. The bathroom is private inside the room with shower gel, shampoo, and clean towels.
Overall, I think Prague Airport is a good option for those looking for a hotel near Tan Son Nhat airport that is reasonably priced, clean, and close to local restaurants and shops.
3. Bluesky Serviced Apartment
I stayed in this hotel during one of the connecting flights from Hanoi to Melbourne stopping in Ho Chi Minh City. The hotel is in the mid-range price bracket but it offers spacious apartments style rooms with living area, kitchen, as well as separate bathroom and bedroom.
There are also facilities such as a swimming pool, onsite restaurant, and spa center. If you’re looking for a little bit more facilities to relax apart from the bedroom before the flight, this hotel is a good choice.
Location:
The Bluesky hotel is located in a small alley, but within easy distance from the main roads such as Bach Dang and Truong Son streets. You can walk to the airport for 15 minutes if you have a light backpack. You can easily take a Grab taxi or GreenSM taxi to get to the airport within a few minutes.
In terms of local minimarts, groceries, and restaurants, you can easily walk to the main roads and surrounding streets such as Cuu Long, and Lam Son streets for more options.
Price:
My room was around 60aud, which is a bit higher price compared to other hotels in the area, but it offers a spacious apartment with a bed room, bath room, fully equipped kitchen, and living room.
Facilities:
The studio apartment at the Bluesky Hotel is very well maintained and well-equipped with modern furnishings, which are convenient and comfortable for both short and long term stays. Unlike other airport hotels, this accommodation has a pool and gym with a sauna which add a bit of luxury for your short stay before the flight.
4. Ibis Saigon Airport
This is a popular 4-star mid-range hotel located right next to Tan Son Nhat airport. It’s within easy distance to the airport. If you have a light suitcase you can walk between the airport and the hotel, otherwise, you can use Grab taxi or GreenSM taxi to travel between these places between a few minutes ride.
Location:
Ibis Saigon Airport is located on Hong Ha street, a short stone’s throw away from the main road Truong Son street and the airport.
The hotel is located only 1km from the airport. There are free shuttle services to international terminals, and to the domestic terminal, you can use Grab taxi or greenSM taxi for around 30k VND plus 9k airport fee.
Ibis Saigon is right next to CGV Menas Mall Saigon Airport Mall, which is a good place to check out for food and shopping while staying near the airport.
The hotel is home to Starbuck, while other popular coffee shops such as Highland and Cong Ca Phe are also a short walk from the hotels. There are many local shops, massage parlours, and minimarts nearby such as Family mart and 7-eleven store for food and essentials.
Price:
The average price for staying at Ibis Saigon airport is 1,5mil VND (around 100 aud/ night). It’s the high end hotel near Tan Son Nhat airport, so you’ll need to pay more than other budget hotels to access its facilities such as pool, rooftop bar, fitness center, and restaurant.
Amenities:
The Ibis Saigon hotel offers free shuttle services to the international terminal which is a bonus for those who want easy access to the airport. Unlike other simple hotels around the airport, Ibis has more to offer than just transit accommodation.
The hotel has all facilities for a relaxing stay including comfortable spacious rooms, rooftop bars, pool, gym, and onsite restaurant and cafe.
The hotel also serves breakfast on the first floor. The rooftop area offers stunning views of the Saigon skyline and airport runway.
5. Express by M Village Cửu Long
M Village is a popular hotel chain in Ho Chi Minh City. IF you like this hotel chain and want to stay close to the airport, you can consider staying in this hotel on Cuu Long street.
Location:
The M Village Cuu Long hotel is located on Cuu Long street, only a 7 minute drive from Tan Son Nhat international airport. The street is lined with delicious local restaurants, cafes, street food stalls, and groceries shops such as Kingfoodmart, Co.op mart, Bach Hoa Xanh, GS25.
The hotel is in a very convenient location for airport transit, shopping, and eating local foods. There are good Bun Bo Hue restaurants, Banh My, and all kinds of Vietnamese eateries around with a cheap price compared to the touristy area in district 1 and district 3.
Price:
This is mid-range airport accommodation in the Tan Son Nhat international airport area. The single room without a window cost around 800k VND (45aud/ night). There are also apartment style rooms if you want more space.
Facilities:
There is a lift connected to some rooms in the building, so if you need a lift, you can request a room with lift access, especially if you have big luggage, pregnancy, or having mobility problems.
The hotel has a wide selection of rooms for all budgets and preferences such as single bed room, economy double bed, or studio apartment.
